Dr. Kristin Tormoehlen

Happy to be a Veterinarian in Jackson County and Brownstown!

Dr. Kristin Tormoehlen was born and raised in Mundelein, IL (a northern suburb of Chicago). She attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate studies and graduated from the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine in May 2010. Following graduation, Dr. Kristin returned to Chicago and worked in a small animal practice for a year while completing her Masters of Public Health from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Upon graduation in May 2011 with her MPH, she moved to Brownstown, Indiana and began work for Dr. Ron Harrison at the Brownstown Animal Hospital and was appointed a seat on the Jackson County Board of Public Health. In January 2015, Dr. Kristin purchased Dr. Harrison’s practice and renamed it the Brownstown Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Kristin is licensed in Indiana, is a USDA accredited veterinarian and is certified in CWD (chronic wasting disease) sample collection in Indiana. She has years of experience in both small and large animal medicine both in the United States and internationally as well.

Brownstown Veterinary Clinic strives to provide comprehensive care at an affordable price to the residents of Jackson County and the surrounding area. Dr. Kristin is working diligently to upgrade equipment and provide new technologies to further care for your pets and livestock.

Vet Does Farm Calls and has a Farm Life

​

Dr. Kristin is married to Kyle Tormoehlen, a local farmer and show pig breeder. They were on married August 27, 2016 at their church St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Wegan. They are currently remodeling a 1903 farm house, in Brownstown, to be their forever home and look forward to its completion. Both enjoy raising and showing swine, spending time on the farm, hanging out with their dog, Colton and spending time with their sons.
